Presidential Inauguration
January 20, 2009 We had special 'inaugural' pancakes and watched the Presidential Inauguration. We watched it with my sister Laura and her girls. We talked to the kids about how exciting it is for them to witness the inauguration of the first African American President of the United States. We made the kids listen to the speech even though I must admit they were quite bored. I am sure that they will appreciate this event more as they age. What a historic event. It is very special that this took place the same time as the 200 year anniversary of Pres. Abraham Lincoln's birthday. I am sure he would be proud of America.

What a great idea! How neat that they'll have that historical day recorded!
