Ballerina down but not out

Christine suffered a nondisplaced fracture of the base of her right 5th metatarsal during her Nutcracker ballet performance last night. She heard a 'pop' from her foot toward the end of the Snow Dance. She immediately felt tons of pain and swelling but kept on dancing and no one even knew. She showed great courage by enduring the pain some more while performing her final dance (Flower dance). The show must go on. Fortunately it was her last of 4 perfomances. She could not even put any weight on it at all as she left the theatre. Luckily she has a dad who could get her in for an x-ray the next day. She has been given crutches and an orthopedic boot to wear for the next 6-8 weeks. She is amazing.

Even though she hates her orthopedic boot, we think she is still gorgeous, boot or not boot.

Poor Christine! I'm glad she was able to finish the performance though. Hope she feels better soon!

Christine, I am so sorry about your foot! I had no idea. And I am sorry I didn't know about your solo in the choir concert. I would have loved to have heard it. :)
I'm happy to see that the 'start' I helped give Daniel and Rachel on their Christmas piano songs practicing with them during the time I was staying at the house while Mark & Elizabeth were in Italy paid off so well! I was certain that in the end each would learn their songs perfectly and obviously they did!
Congratulations to you all.
Christine, keep me posted on your recovery!!!!
