Baby Hannah MJ

I decided to write a bit about the baby, Hannah. She is 10 months old. I included some pictures of her. She is so sweet and yet she is also quite a handful! She loves to be held. If you pick her up she is completely happy but as soon as you set her down she is as upset and grumpy as can be. I believe that she will be a wonderful singer as she has a fabulous set of lungs. She does not nap often (unless in someones arms or she happens to poop out while playing on the floor - see pic.) Her brother Isaac (18 months her senior) was the exact opposite. In fact I had to remind myself that I had a baby when he was one. He was the best baby. He truly never cried. He would eat whenever I felt like feeding him. He would stay in his crib forever without crying if he was aloud to. He was a saint of a baby!
With that being said, it would be hard for any baby to measure up. Hannah had a tough task at hand. Perhaps she has taken the most wise choice and decided not even to resemble her brother in the least! :) Even though she is no Isaac, she certainly is our precious Hannah and we love her just the same. I used to think that I must have really mastered this mothering thing to have a baby such as Isaac! Well, Hannah burst that bubble! In all fairness to Hannah, we could not hope for a brighter more fun baby. Yes, it is true she is demanding but she is also a treasure. She is curious, social, affectionate and adorable. There is nothing more wonderful than her sweet smile and her hug. She is an excellent crawler and she pulls herself up to a standing position whenever she can. She also likes to crawl after me and cry until I pick her up and she is immediately happy when I do. She also does this cute growl (like a dog), it is very funny. She is quite a chatterbox with happy coos and babbles. She will repeat some words back to us like mama and dada. She insists on sleeping only in our bed and only if we are in it! We love to kiss her chubby cheeks and comfort her when she is in need. We are truly grateful for our precious Hannah!

Darling pictures! I must confess I love the one where Mark is sleeping. Elizabeth, you've described my little name-sake so well. She is adorable. And I guess this blog spot is as good a place as any to express my thoughts on the following: It means so very much to me that Mark & you chose to use my initials as part of Hannah's name. I remember well the day Rachel was born in 2001 when Mark stopped off at my house later that afternoon for a bit to tell me the name you and he had decided on for daughter #2. Mark said, "Mom, we're naming her Rachel Diane. But, if we get another girl, we'll name her after you." I've never forgotten those endearing words of my Mark, and with a smile I responded back that day, "Mark, that's really sweet, but it's okay. I know Diane is Elizabeth's Mom's name, but it is also Elizabeth's name. And OF COURSE parents should pass on THEIR OWN NAMES (whether middle or first) to their children. I understand, and it's just fine, but thanks for thinking of me just the same."
Mark and I never mentioned that conversation again. And with all the years that have passed since and given Mark's own admission as to what a poor long-term memory he has :)...do you know the surge of joy and utter delight I felt on that November day in 2007 when Mark phoned me to tell me the name you and he had decided on for daughter #3? I couldn't believe he'd remembered. Your and Mark's overwhelming reflection of love for me still finds me fighting back tears when I stop and think about it. I hope to play a contributing part in all your children's lives for many, many years to come.
Thank you for making Dan and I feel like we really matter, and that you value our company. We love you back.

How cute; I love the picture of her in front of the flowers the best! How fun, I need to figure out how to download some video of Maddy one of these days.

I can't get over how BIG she has gotten! Wow! I love the pictures. Its just amazing how fast time seems to slip by. I love how you dedicated a post just to Hannah. Just don't let the rest of your kids know or they might get jealous :)
